How do I force Google to give me the US Version?

Friday, April 24th, 2015

As a US resident traveling abroad, I’ve noted that Google assumes I want to see their page and search results in the language that correspond with the country I’m visiting. But what if I don’t? It’s not enough to just remove the country code from the end of the URL. Google will replace it.

To get Google to ignore my country location, I used Google’s No Country Redirecthttp://www.google.com/ncr, in my browser’s address bar. Once loaded in your browser, that page creates a cookie in that deactivates redirection from Google.com to any local Google domain.

To restore redirection, you must clear your browser’s cookies.  Be aware — this will cause you to lose all your cookies, perhaps forcing you to re-login to other sites.
